Job Purpose

To support the finance team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, employee expenses, and payment runs. The Finance Assistant plays a key role in maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial policies, and contributing to the smooth operation of the company’s accounts payable function.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure invoices are properly authorised and coded
  • Prepare accruals
  • Maintain files and records
  • Perform Bank / Cashbook input and reconciliation:
  • Pay suppliers and send remittances
  • Produce month end working papers file:
  • Fixed Assets, enter new assets depreciate and reconcile
  • Purchase and Sales Ledger reconciliations
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as reasonably requested

Qualifications

Position Requirements

  • Previous experience within a finance department
  • Experience using Finance Software package desirable not essential
  • Microsoft Excel / Word working knowledge required
  • Basic accounts knowledge useful
  • Good administrative, organisational and communication skills
  • Key Competencies specific to the role (what traits or capabilities must they have in order to succeed, examples include presentation skills, attention to detail, capability to influence and negotiate)
  • Ability to report accurate results against demanding time schedules and an ability to set priorities and multi-task
  • Robust business knowledge and technical skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills and become effective in them
